When considering aquarium size, keep in mind that the greater the surface area of your tank, the greater the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The more oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged, the more fish the tank can support. 

The shape of your custom aquarium will determine its viewing quality. With odd-shaped tanks, the level of distortion of the fish and other inhabitants increases. Rectangular or square-shaped tanks provide the most clarity.
